Conductive Elastomers

General Description:

Ultrafab offers both thermoplastic and thermoset conductive elastomers. Each formulation offers certain advantages depending on the application. In general, CET Series Thermoplastic Elastomers are ideal where recycleability and design flexibility are paramount. The conventional silicone based CE Series Thermoset Conductive Elastomers are best suited for harsh environments. Read on for a summary of each material’s characteristics

  • Highly conductive extruded elastomer gaskets available in both thermoset and thermoplastic formulations
  • Thermoplastic is recyclable, RoHS compliant and halogen free
  • Thermoset is RoHS compliant and flame retardant to UL 94V0 levels.
  • Both formulations offer weather resistance, ozone resistance, water-tightness and superior low-temperature characteristics.

RoHS compliant

  • The ability to coextrude with other thermoplastics which allows:
    • The creation of complex composite shapes and attachment methods
    • The reduction of the amount of conductive compound needed by allowing the extrusion of a conductive skin over a base thermoplastic elastomer
    • The ability to color the non-conductive elastomer portion of the composite for product ID, differentiation etc.
  • Highly conductivity / high attenuation which results in excellent shielding effectiveness
  • Fully recyclable
  • Suitable for grounding applications
  • Silicone free
  • Soft - Low hardness
  • Ideally suited for high volume manufacturing
  • Low compression set properties
  • Material characteristics allow for complex shapes with thin cross sections
  • ROHS compliant
  • Halogen free
